Dino posted April 29, 2002 17:35           Administrator Member # 1 I'm testing out a new script that allows users to upload their own pictures. I've created some starter categories labelled 1940s, 1050s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, Underwater, Memorabilia, Crew. To upload you must register on this bulletin board. I don't sell email addresses or spam members. Registering just allows me to track uploads to prevent people from uploading porn, etc. That's it. Go ahead and try uploading some pictures to the appropriate categories. The thumbnail feature isn't quite working yet... still trying to iron that out. After uploading, a convert binary should automatically create a thumbnail image called "thmb_yourpic.jgp". It's not currently working, and I have to manually create the thumbnails. I'd rather do that than constrain sizes of full images for thumbnails. Computer geek talk, didn't mean to lose people. Moral of the story: the photo upload is still under development, and I'm trying to iron out the bugs. I'm hoping eventually that auto thumbnail works, as well as setting max image sizes to max width 500 pixels (to make it fit my frames). More info later. Try it out. Upload, edit, etc. Put it to work. Now, when you upload a picture, it will automatically create a 75x75 thumbnail (actually it keeps aspect ratio constant, so it could be 45x75, 35x75, 60x75, etc.)! Victorious! Now I just need to figure out how to recode the perl file, album.pl, so that it automatically resizes all images to 500 pixels wide max! This is a great thing!! Upload your Mesquite pics to your heart's content!!! Be sure to select the proper category, and let me know if we need to add new categories!
